SESAR at Aerodays 2025 - Session 8 May
Showcase of EU Collaboration in Aviation: Results of SESAR JU
8 May, 16.30-17.30
The SESAR JU is proud to be participating in Aerodays 2025, taking place from 7–9 May in Warsaw, Poland.
This is the second of two SESAR-JU led sessions at the event. This particular session will showcase our latest research results, strategic initiatives, and collaborative projects aimed at making European aviation smarter, more connected, and more sustainable.
This session will present a snapshot of some promising and innovative research and development (R&D) activities currently underway within the SESAR Joint Undertaking (JU), the EU’s flagship programme for air traffic management (ATM) modernisation.
As Europe continues to push forward in its ambition to create a sustainable, efficient, and digitally connected airspace, SESAR plays a central role in driving collaborative innovation across the aviation value chain. This session will highlight the importance and impact of EU-funded R&D by showcasing the results of four cutting-edge SESAR research projects, each tackling key challenges in areas such as AI and automation, green aviation, and digital infrastructure.
Chaired by Benoît Fonck, Chief Programme at SESAR Joint Undertaking, the session will begin with a short introduction to the SESAR programme and to the European ATM Master Plan. Each project will then be given 10 minutes to present its major outcomes, technical achievements, and potential for operational or policy uptake. The session will conclude with a Q&A session, allowing participants to engage directly with the project leads and explore how SESAR research is helping to shape the future of European aviation.
This session is an excellent opportunity to gain insights into the collaborative nature of EU aviation research, discover innovative solutions emerging from the SESAR portfolio of research projects, and understand the broader strategic direction of air traffic management in Europe.
