The SESAR AURA project is pleased to invite you to the Open Day organised by Frequentis focused on the real-time simulation of the data exchange between U-space and ATM systems in terms of information to be shared. Save the date!

This session will give an overview of the validation exercise conducted by HungaroControl, PANSA/DroneRadar, Honeywell, Thales, Indra, Airbus and Frequentis at two locations in Budapest (ATC tower simulator and a golf course for real flights) from 28th of November until 30 of November 2022. Five information exchange services (for operation plans, telemetry, operational messaging, conformance monitoring and geographical zone information) were used to simulate data exchange between two ATCs, two CIS providers, five U-Space Service Provider (USSP) and drone operators. Both real and simulated flights were performed, all of them reflecting realistic scenarios for optimal learning opportunities. Trajectories were handled by the system as lines or volume of airspace to optimise operator integration. Furthermore, no-fly zones were established during the runs to test the reaction of both humans and systems in the loop.

Cluster 2 successfully validated the exchange of U-space information with ATM through SWIM and demonstrated the technical feasibility of the concept.
