Description

About the exercise

The exercise validated enhanced Departure Manager to establish pre-departure sequence at Paris CDG, to improve traffic predictability, airport capacity, cost and environmental effectiveness and safety

Results

A total of 48 air traffic controllers demonstrated that the new tool can decrease the average taxi time and reduce delays. The implementation of DMAN tools also enable an improved adherence to Central Flow Management Unit (CFMU). The tests also demonstrated the reliability of the DMAN tool and showed that it facilitates the implementation of changes to runway capacity and configuration. The technology has shown favourable results on fuel consumption, with an average reduction of 14.6 kg per flight, corresponding to 46.6 kg drop in CO2 emissions.
