Space-enabled services are bringing improved operational efficiency and safety to the air traffic management and aviation sector. The SESAR JU joined experts from business, academia and European institutions at a dedicated session at Farnborough Air Show to discuss how this will enable considerable savings for the industry, improve service to the flying public and reduce CO2 emissions by millions of tonnes every year. The discussions come as the European Space Agency’s Iris Programme completes flight tests in support of SESAR’s air traffic management modernisation efforts.
