In order to prepare the launch of the SESAR Programme, the SJU organised two Dry-Run Sessions with the candidate-members in April and May, addressing the principles of the organisation of the programme as well as practical pilot cases.

The first session took place over two days with an objective to present to about 35 future work package leaders and project managers the main principles underpinning the organisation of the Programme. The session was very interactive and allowed to start applying the partnership spirit to the definition of the overall management framework that will be applied to the programme (validation strategy, Programme Management Plan, Engineering Methodology...).

The second Dry Run session was in the form of a practical pilot case of 3 projects (one technical, one operational and one transversal). It has involved a larger number of participants, about 50 project managers, project contributors and other representatives from members are applying the methodology proposed by the SJU to initiate the projects. The objective of the initiation phase is to allow the start of R&D activities as soon as practicable.

Next step: the full kick off of the work packages and projects as from June!
