In May, the 100th of the approximately 300 SESAR projects was approved for entering into the ‘green’ execution phase. The SESAR project cycle foresees a comprehensive preparation of each project during the first initiation phase. The outcome of this phase is reviewed by advisory committees and approved by the SJU’s Executive Director. It releases the project to actually start the research and development work. “SESAR is not only paper and good will. SESAR is hard work and commitment by more than 1,500 engineers from all over Europe. And thanks to all these hard workers, SESAR is on track to deliver the future ATM system”, commented Patrick Ky, Executive Director of the SESAR Joint Undertaking.
