The SESAR JU is pleased to be supporting AERODAYS 2025 - a 3-day scientific and business conference attracting some 1,000 participants from the aviation research community.

The event is organised by the European Commission as part of as part of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The objectives of Aerodays 2025 are to:

  • Promote the Aviation Sector within the EU and globally
  • Provide a platform for European aviation innovative research projects to promote their research
  • Ensure aviation research synergies between ongoing research and development projects
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange
  • Create opportunities for new strategic alliances and consortiums
  • Support policy coordination to bolster research, development, innovation and climate within the aviation sector.

Here’s what to expect from SESAR JU at Aerodays 2025:
 

Wednesday 7 May 2025
 

  • 14:30 – 16:00 | Plenary session | A new European aviation agenda for future aviation research

    SESAR JU Executive Director Andreas Boschen will take the stage for a joint presentation with Axel to outline a forward-looking European Research agenda under the ARIS framework. This session will set the tone for the strategic evolution of research and innovation in aviation.
     
  • 16:30 – 17:30 | Parallel session | The European ATM Master Plan: Europe’s Roadmap Towards the Transformation of European Airspace

    This session will provide a deep dive into the ATM Master Plan, Europe’s roadmap for modernising air traffic management. SESAR JU and partners will highlight progress, future goals, and alignment with EU policy priorities (read more).
     
  • 16:30 – 17:30 | Parallel session | Competitiveness by synergies: beyond the buzzwords. Connecting aviation research in Europe

    Agnieszka Byrt, Master Planning Expert, SESAR JU will join a panel exploring synergies with European and international partners, showing how cross-sector collaboration accelerates innovation and impact.

  • 11:30 – 12:30 | Parallel session | Innovative technologies for green aviation

    SESAR JU’s Benoit Fonck, Chief Programme, will join colleagues Sebastian Dubois (Clean Aviation JU), Luca Feola (Clean Hydrogen JU) to discuss how joint undertakings are pushing forward sustainable aviation technologies and delivering greener solutions across the value chain.
     
  • 11:30 – 12:30 | Parallel session | Operation blue sky: cutting contrails for climate neutrality. The road to getting greener without losing competitiveness

    Stella Saldana, Programme Manager, SESAR JU will contribute to this session on contrails, a growing focus of climate research. The discussion will cover the latest findings and strategies to mitigate aviation’s non-CO₂ climate impacts.
     
  • 13:30 – 14:30 | Plenary session 4: Digitalisation. Artificial intelligence & Autonomy 

    Andreas Boschen, Executive Director, SESAR JU will deliver a keynote highlighting how digitalisation is revolutionising air traffic management, enhancing efficiency, safety and environmental performance.
     
  • 16:30 – 17:30 | Parallel session | Showcase of EU Collaboration in Aviation: Results of SESAR JU

    Projects including JARVIS, ECHOES, HERON and ENSURE will be in the spotlight, showcasing SESAR JU’s cutting-edge R&D results and their contribution to future-ready European skies (read more).
