Focus on results
Anyone who thinks that SESAR is just another research & development programme is wrong. SESAR is results oriented, unites all aviation players, includes declared experts and researchers. We at the SESAR JU are responsible for the coordination of almost 300 projects. The SESAR programme - executed in cooperation with the SESAR JU members and associate partners comprising 16 work packages - will provide tangible results from the ATM Network R&D Programme. Ultimately, it will boost the European industry. The work packages will develop and deliver the necessary operational and technical materials (specifications, procedures, prototypes, validation reports, etc) for the progressive industrialisation, deployment and operation of the new ATM system.

SESAR Release 2011
SESAR is starting to deliver! With the first SESAR Release, the SESAR JU and its members present the first components of the future European ATM system. The SESAR Release groups projects and validation exercises and, together with the 49 SESAR members and associate partners, aims to start delivering tangible results at a pre-industrialisation stage as early as possible in 2011. All the projects included in the Release are verified and validated in an operational environment to allow for a decision on industrialisation and subsequent deployment.
The validation exercises in this first SESAR Release cover the areas of efficient and green terminal airspace operations, the initial 4D trajectory, end to end traffic synchronisation, as well as integrated and collaborative network management. Concrete benefits will be achieved for airlines, pilots, airports, air traffic controllers, pilots, passengers and the environment.
SESAR Experts
SESAR unites the whole aviation community. Experts from airspace users, airports, air navigation service providers, the manufacturing industry, aviation associations and organisations, the scientific world, regulators and administrations work together to make the programme a success.
