SJU hosts high-level delegation of Brazilian ATM executives

Between 23-25 August the SJU hosted a high-level visit of the Brazilian Department of Airspace Control (DECEA).

This visit took place as a result of the first contact between the Director General of DECEA, Tenente Brigadeiro Ramon Borges Cardoso, the EC Air Transport Director, Mr. Daniel Calleja, and the SESAR Joint Undertaking Executive Director, Mr. Patrick Ky last May. The DECEA delegation and the SJU exchanged information on their respective air traffic management planning tools (the Brazilian ATM Plan and the European ATM Master Plan) as well as work programmes, and on specific initiatives such as AIRE and OPTIMI. The participants confirmed their interest on further information exchange and cooperation as well as on exploring possible future joint activities. A follow up meeting will take place in Brazil in June 2011. The DECEA delegation also had the opportunity to visit other Institutions, in particular the European Commission and Eurocontrol during its stay in Brussels.
