Funding the SESAR Joint Undertaking
The SESAR Joint Undertaking is funded by public and private resources through its membership, namely the European Union, Eurocontrol and industry partners, each of which contribute one third to the total funding.
SESAR 2020 Programme (2016-2024): €1.6 billion
The EU contribution is provided under the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
SESAR 1 Programme (2008-2016): €2.1 billion
The EU contribution for SESAR 1 was provided under the Research and Trans-European Network funds.

The 2011 budget was approved by the SJU Administrative Board on 14 December 2010.
The 2010 budget was approved by the SJU Administrative Board by written procedure on 31 December 2009.
The 2009 budget (revised version) was approved by the SJU Administrative Board on 9 October 2009 by written procedure.
The 2007-2008 budget was approved by the SJU Administration Board on April 24th 2008 in its 6th meeting.
