Eric Platteau
Eric Platteau has been heading the communication and training activities at the SESAR Joint Undertaking since August 2008. He is also supporting the top management with EU Institutional relationships (European Parliament & various key EU meetings). Since 2008, a detailed communication plan has been approved and is being implemented for internal and external communication in this public-private multi-stakeholder context. 70 private companies are involved in SESAR, EU stakeholders (airlines, airports, military, staff associations, etc) are on board and it is expected that 3.000 people will work on the SESAR programme in 17 different countries. A fantastic challenge in terms of Communications!
Previously, Eric was Communications Manager at Baxter - a global health care group - for the Benelux Region and he was also actively participating in the Public Affairs activities of the company. He was also responsible for the internal communication of Baxter in Europe, Middle East and Africa (+- 14.000 employees). Prior to 2006, he worked for five years as Head of Relationship Marketing at Brussels Airlines. From 1998 to 2001 he was Head of PR for Orange at the time when the company launched its mobile network in Belgium. His first assignment began in 1995 in the role of spokesman for Sabena, the former Belgian national airline.
