Procurement
The SESAR Joint Undertaking (SJU) is a Community Body which has been established under Article 187 of the Treaty. As such, the SJU possesses its own legal personality but is distinct from Community institutions such as the Council, Parliament, Commission, etc
Therefore, the SJU is subject to the provisions of the Financial Regulation applicable to the general budget of the European Communities, the SJU Financial Regulation and the relevant directives relating to the coordination of procedures for the award of public contracts.
The SJU calls for tenders which are subject to the Public Procurement Directive 2004/18/EC for supply of goods, services and works are advertised here on the SJU website, once mandatory publication has taken place in the Official Journal of the European Union (http://ted.europa.eu).
We will also regularly publish the list of contracts awarded by the SJU.

On the basis of the decision of its Administrative Board dated 15 January 2010*, the SJU invited its Members, operationally involved in the SESAR Programme, to submit proposals for the selection of “Associate Partner(s) of SJU Members” (hereinafter referred to as the “Associate Partner(s)”). Associate Partners shall not have the status of members of the SESAR Joint Undertaking.The SJU Administrative Board shall take the final decision on which candidates will be accepted as Associate Partners in accordance with the criteria established in the invitation.The maximum number of Associate Partners shall be limited, in principle, to fifteen (15) legal entities.
*: Any private/public entity interested in becoming an Associate Partner of an SJU Member is invited to contact directly one of the SJU Members (www.sesarju.eu/players/members). Candidates may not submit applications directly to the SESAR Joint Undertaking.

First call for WP-E research networks launched (ref )

Eurocontrol launched on behalf of the SESAR Joint Undertaking the first call for research networks within SESAR work package E on long term and innovative research. Through this call, the SESAR Joint Undertaking includes the academic world in its ambitious mission to create a new-generation ATM system. Research Networks provide a structured way to establish a body of research knowledge, competence and capability that should serve the industry in the long term.

Call for tenders - Performance of flight trials validating solutions for the reduction of CO2 emissions (ref SJU/LC/0039-CFP)

The purpose of this call for tender is to select a number of integrated pre-operational validation projects. These projects shall:
- be developed in different operational domains or directly with a “Gate-to-Gate” perspective,
- aim at validating solutions resulting in the reduction of CO2 emissions,
- be performed during 2010,
- and capitalise on present aircraft capabilities.
